Nature, the living world, the environment, ecosystems… Human beings have a whole scope of words to try and address a reality they struggle to understand. In the 19th century, the anarchist geographer Elisée Reclus wrote, “Man is nature becoming aware of itself”. In its modest way, the Ecology category is trying to help develop this sentiment by offering films that denounce, shift and deconstruct our perspective that puts humankind at the centre of the living world. Exercises in complex thinking, cries of rage, experiments in new ways of doing things together, scandals about excessive energy consumption or the exploitation of animals – a vast array of scenarios to deploy your intelligence and sensitivity for a better understanding, to help the cause and thus develop our humanity.
